The first day of my second practicum started on the 26th of January 2016 at Taylor's International School Kuala Lumpur. I was assigned with my batch mate Krissie Tan to a week of assistantship to Ms’ Keren Bala the class teacher of Year 3O. I and Krissie was granted the opportunity by Ms’ Keren, to introduce ourselves to the class.  I took this opportunity and enlightened the class with the reason of my presence for the entire week. I explained my duty and role as a student-teacher and warmly expressed to the class that I am only a hand-raise away to cater to their assistance. During the period of class-time, I manage to assist Ms’ Keren during her class lessons and nonetheless with a helping-hand from Krissie. We both tried our best to assist the students and help them eliminate their misconceptions and curiosity regarding the work that had been provided to them for every lesson of the day. I and Krissie both were given clear explanation about how the class schedule functions and what are our duties as student-teachers by Ms’ Keren. The entire day passed by with me and Krissie trying to adjust ourselves with the class environment and the students. We accompanied the students for their breakfast and lunch breaks as we were assigned to monitor them outside of the classroom settings as well. During lessons we were exposed to the teaching techniques used by Ms’ Keren. She displayed the importance of technology in the classroom context and how simple access such as using YouTube and Prezi for educational slides and purposes could assist a teacher to convey the knowledge in a more convenient manner. After school we stayed back for a short meeting with Ms’ Keren, and she managed to introduce the systems and functions of the weekly lesson plans and semester lesson plans. Ms’ Keren. Although it was a brief meeting but we definitely learned a lot about the roles of a primary educator in an international school. During the meeting, Ms’ Keren taught us the significant criteria to focus on when marking the student's book. Afterwards, she assigned me and Krissie to mark the student’s homework for the day.

Moreover, me and Krissie took the privilege of the after school hours to explore the grounds of the school. It was interesting as TISKL is a huge school despite it may look pretty simple from the exterior. The interesting part about exploring the school is that, the teachers and students around the school compound was very delighted to have us around as student-teachers. They warmly welcomed us with a generous smile on their faces and hence helped us toured around the school grounds. I and Krissie ended our first day at TISKL with the tour around the school grounds and learning the history of TISKL from the people present around us on that day.
